ESOL Program Placement Test - Schedule and Sign-up

To make good progress, all students need to be in the appropriate class for their level of English. That's why every student must take the English language placement test. The main test has three parts: listening, vocabulary and reading, and writing, and takes two hours to complete. We give the test on a regular schedule for local and international students. Please see below for details:

International Students:

International students will take the placement test soon after they arrive, or at the latest, on the first day of the semester. Once you arrive in Portland, please come to the ESOL office to say hello, and we'll get you signed up for your placement tests.

 Local Students:

Local students should sign up online. Please click here to use SignUp Genius
