The USM ESOL Program's Intensive English Language Summer Program will be offered from Monday, June 25 - Friday, August 3, 2018. We will be offering two courses:
Reading, Writing and Vocabulary: 9:00-12:00 noon, Monday – Friday (5 days a week): Students will gain a stronger foundation in understanding & using English correctly. The primary focus of this class is on building skills for academic study and professional life, particularly focusing on critical reading, academic writing and expansion of vocabulary. All classes are small and interactive.
Listening and Speaking on the Maine Coast: 1:30 – 3:30 pm Monday-Thursday (4 days a week) The primary focus of the afternoon session is to help students improve in areas of spoken communication and listening comprehension. The class includes pair work, group work and other interactive methods as well as excursions into the local community for authentic communication opportunities. Program Information: All classes are taught by highly trained instructors with at least a master's degree. The program is open to all students at least 17 years of age or older who have an intermediate level of English.
