Grant and Award Opportunities for Student Attendees

Mini-Grants
The goal of the Universities Fighting World Hunger (UFWH) is to inspire university students, faculty and staff to take meaningful actions that address the root causes of food insecurity and offer systemic solutions to hunger. To help support and inspire new initiatives, students attending the 2019 UFWH Summit will be eligible to apply for mini-grants of up to $500 in start-up funds.

Our goal is to provide incentive startup funds to initiate programs, projects and initiatives which will collaborate with other partners for long-term sustainability. Projects could include, but are not limited to programs, projects, courses, and/or activities which address one or more of our major conference themes:

  • Politics of Hunger and Poverty
  • Campus Food Insecurity
  • Equity and Racial Justice in the Food System
  • Mobilizing for Change (sharing tools and skills needed to take action)
  • Nutrition and Public Health
  • Food Sovereignty
  • Global Perspectives

There will be a break-out session at the conference giving more information. The application will be available here from March 15th to May 15th.
