The Franco-American Collection sponsors monthly French-language sing-along sessions, usually held on-site at USM LAC. Sessions are organized by community members and encourage audience involvement. They are usually held at 1:30pm on the third Friday of the month. The Franco-American Collection is open for the half-hour before the Sing-Along so participants have a chance to look at exhibits and see what's happening at the Collection.
Lyrics to traditional French folk tunes are provided, and audience members are invited to add their own performances, or even share the odd joke or story! The song sessions help to reinforce the French language and its music among the local community, and make a lasting contribution to the Collection's holdings.
