Martin Weinstein's work is currently featured in the Art Gallery in Gorham as part of the Resonance and Memory Exhibition. In late 1990s, Martin Weinstein started painting on layered sheets of plastic out in the landscape, incorporating different times into the successive layers. The pressure of the changing sky and light add urgency to the artist’s plein-air process. By painting on layers of transparent acrylic, he juxtaposes visual elements using brushstrokes that are physically independent of the lower layers.  His principle subject is the the woods, gardens and river vistas of his family home, a landscape he has known since youth. Weinstein shows his work nationally and recent solo shows include: Westfield Atheneum, Westfield, MA and MSW STUDIO, New York, NY in 2016, Quincy Art Center, Quincy, Il and Kingsborough Art Museum, Brooklyn, NY in 2017, and an upcoming show at The Parthenon Museum, Nashville TN, in 2019.
