The Graduate Student Network (GSN) is a new community of graduate students who can connect with one another and share resources in order to enrich the graduate student experience at USM. The GSN is governed by passionate student leaders who serve on the Graduate Student Board, which gives students a platform to have a voice in their educational experience. The Board hopes to empower the wider Graduate Student Network to engage in the issues and opportunities they care about. The Network will benefit from events and initiatives led by the Graduate Student Board, which follow the three main guiding principles:
Advocacy: Serve as a voice for graduate students to express their needs, concerns, and ideas to leadership, faculty, and staff, in order to take action to address them.
Community: Ensure that graduate students are well-informed about their rights and resources, and stay meaningfully connected to each other and the broader USM community.
Engagement: Provide opportunities to connect, collaborate, and network with alumni, employers, and System-wide partners to pursue career development and civic engagement.
