Maine blueberries

The University of Maine System (UMS) has a wide array of benefits available to employees.

Our benefits not only enhance employees' financial security and well-being, they also add significantly to their total compensation. We offer an excellent benefits package that includes paid time off (holidays, vacation and sick), health, dental, vision and life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, a tuition waiver program for eligible employee and dependents, a 403(b) retirement plan and more.

For all you need to know about the UMS Wellness program, MotivateMe (formerly RiseUp), visit the University of Maine System Wellness Site.

For USM-specific information, including upcoming events, please visit the USM Wellness Site.

UMS offers competitive 403(b) and 457(b) retirement programs, including Roth options. A match equivalent of up to 10% of employees' base salary is available on the basic 403(b) plan for full-time employees. (Part-time employees are generally ineligible for UMS matching contributions.)

Note: There is a five year vesting period for the University's retirement contributions to this plan (excluding AFUM-represented faculty who are immediately vested).
