Maine blueberries

The University of Maine System (UMS) has a wide array of benefits available to employees.

Our benefits not only enhance employees' financial security and well-being, they also add significantly to their total compensation. We offer an excellent benefits package that includes paid time off (holidays, vacation and sick), health, dental, vision and life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, a tuition waiver program for eligible employee and dependents, a 403(b) retirement plan and more.

For more information about UMS Wellness, MotivateME (formerly known as RiseUp), including upcoming events, please visit the USM Wellness Site.

UMS offers competitive 403(b) and 457(b) retirement programs, including Roth options. A match equivalent of up to 10% of employees' base salary is available on the basic 403(b) plan for full-time employees (part-time employees are generally ineligible for UMS matching contributions).

Note: There is a five year vesting period for the University's retirement contributions to this plan (excluding AFUM-represented faculty who are immediately vested).
