Dr. Elizabeth Goryunova is a scholar and practitioner of global leadership. She teaches primarily courses in leadership in a global context, as well as graduate and Ph.D. research methods and design. She is a member of the USM Faculty Senate Executive Committee, USM Core Curriculum Committee and USM Research Advisory Committee.

Elizabeth joined the University of Southern Maine in 2017, having previously taught at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business, Utah Valley University, Southern New Hampshire University, Salt Lake Community College, and SCC. Prior to Academia, Elizabeth successfully led the strategic development of the World Trade Center Utah, as its President & CEO, and served as a member and treasurer of the Utah District Export Council, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

In 2010 she was appointed by the U.S. Executive Director of the World Bank as one of ten U.S. Private Sector Liaison Officers to the World Bank Group and IDB. In that capacity, Elizabeth has been connecting researchers, entrepreneurs and business leaders with projects financed globally by the International Financial Institutions. She consults on business strategy, operations, and procurement policies/procedures of the International Financial Institutions.

Elizabeth is a co-founder and past president of the Utah European Chamber of Commerce, Women Empowerment Global Outreach (501-c-3) and Organization of Women in International Trade (Utah Chapter).

She is a member of the International Leadership Association, Association of Leadership Educators, Eastern Academy of Management, Western Academy of Management, and the International Women's Forum, and served on numerous other boards and commissions.
