Dr. Elizabeth Goryunova is a scholar and practitioner of organizational leadership. Prior to joining the University of Southern Maine, she taught at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business, Utah Valley University, Southern New Hampshire University, Salt Lake Community College, and SCC.
Her research interests are in leadership studies/education. Her publications include Handbook of Research on Gender and Leadership (Edward Elgar Publishing), research articles and policy briefs (JOLE, UWLP), as well as conference presentations (ILA, NUSSACC, LRGC, IAESTE)
Prior to Academia, Elizabeth served as President & CEO (and earlier as Chief Operating Officer) of the World Trade Center Utah, organization with a global footprint. She successfully led strategic development of the organization, oversaw its finances and operations, and served as a member and treasurer of the Utah District Export Council (on appointment by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce).
Since 2010, appointed by the U.S. Executive Director of the World Bank as one of ten U.S. Private Sector Liaison Officers to the World Bank Group and IDB, Elizabeth has been connecting researchers, entrepreneurs and business leaders with projects financed globally by the International Financial Institutions. She is awarded World Bank Group' Public Procurement certificate and Gender Equality and Development certificate and consults on business strategy, operations and procurement policies/procedures of the International Financial Institutions.
Prior to joining the World Trade Center, Elizabeth served as a Director of International Relations for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. Elizabeth is a co-founder and past president of the Utah European Chamber of Commerce, Women Empowerment Global Outreach (501-c-3) and Organization of Women in International Trade (Utah Chapter).
She is a member of International Women's Forum, Academy of Management and International Leadership Association. She also served as a member and a Vice Chair of the Utah State Radiation Control Board (on Governor's appointment), as a member of the University of Utah International Center Advisory Board and on numerous other boards and commissions.
