Arts & Humanities Speaker Series: On Nature An Altenate View of Landscape Imagery

October 15, 2012
5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Lewiston campus, Room 170

USM's Lewiston-Auburn College continues its Monday evening lecture series with guest speakers, free and open to the public. This lecture features Todd Watts.

Todd Watts is a photographer whose work explores environmental change, unconventional printing techniques and image manipulation. For the past thirty-plus years, he has pushed the edges of his chosen medium, recombining the language of painting, sculpture, and film with photography.  According to a review in the New York Times, “The artist's pictures, which look as if they were air-brushed with glowing veils of color, are as gorgeous as photographs conceivably can get.”  His work has been exhibited and collected internationally, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Graphic Collection Albertina, Bibliothèque National, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, and others.
