The Textbooks on Reserve Project is in partnership with USM Student Government, Student Body President Muhammad Khan, and the USM Libraries. The idea is in recognition of the high cost of textbooks for students and to provide an option for students who may find it financially challenging to purchase textbooks.
This is a pilot project and will focus on the core 100 level courses. The textbooks will be on Library Reserves at the campus where the course is taught most often for a two hour reserve check out for in library use. Due to the high volume of titles, copies will be available at one campus library and not duplicated. If the book is available as an e-book, it will be made accessible as an e-book. USM Libraries and the Provost Office are providing the financial support to purchase the textbooks in cooperation with the USM Bookstore.
