Register Below for 2019 USM All-State Boot Camps
All students receive an opportunity to participate in master classes in Audition Preparation with USM School of Music faculty.
Open to: All high school students interested in auditioning for MMEA All-State
Instrumental Boot Camp, woodwind, brass, percussion, and strings (no harp or piano)
Saturday, October 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Instrumental registration deadline, Sunday, September 29 at 11:59 p.m. INSTRUMENTAL REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
Cost: $20 in advance includes BBQ lunch at noon and the 1 p.m. outdoor band concert.
Vocal Boot Camp
Saturday, October 19, 9 a.m. to Noon - VOCAL REGISTRATION IS OPEN, REGISTER BELOW
Cost: $10 in advance.

9:30 a.m. Welcome in Concert Hall
Informational meeting with Alan Kaschub, Director of the School of Music, Corthell Concert Hall.
9:45 - 11:15 a.m. Master Classes with USM Faculty
Focus on practice strategies, interpretive decisions, and technical considerations
Opportunities to perform individually and/or as a group
Feedback and suggestions for improvement pertinent to the audition process.
Mock Auditions (optional)
Participants will be heard by a panel of faculty members and given additional feedback on their musicality.
Instrumental: 12:00 p.m. on October 5
Vocal: 11:15 a.m. on October 19
(On October 5, the schedule includes the BBQ lunch starting at noon and continues through the outdoor band concert from 1 - 2 p.m. "Wind and percussion students participating in the Instrumental Boot Camp will also have the opportunity to join the USM Concert Band for one piece during their Outdoor Band Concert)
REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. First, complete the registration form below. After you click submit, you will receive a copy of your completed registration form at the email address you provided. Please have the following information ready. All contact information for the primary parent/guardian, the participant's name, age at the time of the boot camp and school grade in September 2019, name of school entering in the fall, name of the audition instrument, private teacher's name and Youth Ensembles membership number, if known.
2: You will be asked to go to a payment website to pay $10 (vocal) or $20 (instrumental) for each participant's registration. Please use a separate registration form for each participant you are registering, but you may pay for several participants in one transaction if you wish. If you prefer, you can send a check made payable to "USM" and mail to USM School of Music, Attn: Boot Camp, 37 College Avenue, Gorham, ME 04038.
IMPORTANT NOTE: our communication with you will only be by e-mail from now through the time of boot camp. Please be sure to give an accurate and valid parent e-mail address so that we can confirm that each participant's registration and payment has been received.
** A note about waiting lists: at this time, we are not expecting to have a waiting list, but it's important to register early for planning purposes.
