2019 USM Summer Youth Music and Theatre Camps Registration Form

Registrations for 2019 Summer Camps is now open and will remain open through the summer camp season.

Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. A waiting list will be kept for any sections that fill up.

Some sections will fill right away, some won't. We work very hard to get as many in as we can. First come, first serve. Please register early. Registration and waiting lists will stay open right up to the start of each camp.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. First, complete the registration form below. After you click submit, you will receive an automated response with a copy of your completed registration form at the email address you provided.

2. Watch for a SECOND email, this time from Lori Arsenault that will confirm that your child has a spot on the roster, or on a waiting list. This email will contain payment information, and will be sent to the email address you provide on your registration form, and will give you further instructions.

IMPORTANT NOTE: our communication to you will primarily be by e-mail from now through camp time. Please be sure to give an accurate and valid parent e-mail address so that we can confirm that your child has a spot in the camp. Confirmation is not automatic, but is done one child at a time by email.

Five great camps!

  • Southern Maine Theatre Academy, Sunday, June 23 to Friday, June 28, 2019
  • Southern Maine Youth Band Day Camp, Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28, 2019
  • Southern Maine Music Academy, Saturday, July 6 to Sunday, July 14, 2019
  • Southern Maine Choral Music Academy, Sunday, July 14 to Saturday, July 20, 2019
  • Southern Maine Junior Music Academy, Sunday, July 21 to Saturday, July 27, 2019

Registration opens February 1, 2019 at exactly 9 a.m. Some sections fill quickly, others, not so quickly. There's no way to tell which are which, so please register early. Please know in advance which program you are registering for, and be prepared with your camper's primary instrument (for band academy) or voice part (for choral academy).

Waiting Lists: There are no guarantees with waiting lists, but those on the waiting list often end up with a spot. Therefore, please register, and keep in touch. You must register to be on a waiting list, and only those on a waiting list have a chance at spots that open up.

For additional information please contact Lori Arsenault, (207) 780-5142, loria@maine.edu (new email address)

This e-mail address should be a valid parent address that is regularly used. Important camp information and updates will be sent by e-mail to parents, and it's very important that these communications are received. Student and secondary e-mail addresses can be added to the comments, if you like.
Please type the Name of Primary Instrument, Voice Part or Theatre, or indicate if you're not really sure. It's very important that this registration goes to the proper section.
Multiple options may be chosen if the participant is attending several camps. Register early. Some sections fill quickly, and early registrations help us in our planning.
Music camps registrations must show only one primary instrument. Anyone who plays a secondary instrument may include that in the comments, if you choose. All band camp registrants may also choose piano, guitar, bass guitar or double bass, but only if their primary instrument is a wind or percussion instrument.
Each room has two beds. We are in Robie Andrews Hall this year, with only two campers to a room, so please plan accordingly if you are requesting roommates. For this reason, not all requests can be accommodated. Students who do not request a roommate will be placed with another student of the same gender, and similar age and grade, and when possible, similar instruments.
Answering this question will help us with future communications about our summer camps.
Due to space and ensemble limitations, submission of this registration form is not a guarantee of camp enrollment. You will receive enrollment confirmation from camp staff. Please mention here if there is anything unclear, or additional information you would like us to have at this time. Once your registration is confirmed, we will ask you for the more detailed information we will need for your camper to have a safe and enjoyable experience. Include in this field any secondary instruments, and any other questions you may have.
