USM Wind Ensemble in Concert

WHO: The University of Southern Maine (USM) School of Music presents the USM Wind Ensemble, conducted by Peter Martin, USM professor of music. 

WHAT: The USM Wind Ensemble is an acclaimed collection of students who have established a tradition of performing both classic works and modern experimental combinations. In this performance the ensemble will feature both traditional and contemporary works including: an antiphonal piece by Italian composer Andrea Gabrieli; a brass and percussion piece by Karel Husa, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer; Academy Award-winning composer Malcolm Arnold’s “Trevelyan Suite;” modern works by American composer John Mackey; and a high-energy piece by John Philip Sousa, among others.
