Applying for a Graduate or Research Assistantship within the Muskie School
Interested students should fill out the Muskie School Scholarship and Assistantship Application below. The 2017-2018 academic year Graduate Assistantship application deadline is March 1, 2017.
- Complete the Muskie School Assistantship application (You will need to log-in with your MaineStreet id and password.)
If you have applied for admission, you may apply for an assistantship, but you cannot receive the award until you are a formally admitted and matriculated to your graduate program, so it is helpful to submit your admissions application by the priority deadline or earlier. Remember: it can take several months to process your application completely.
Due to the opportunities through the Cutler Institute and the Muskie School, this application portal will not close until September. Contact the Cutler staff you wish to interview with. Treat it as a job interview. Remember - many of our projects are national grants! Do not waste their time if you do not have the skills or interest to work with them.
Applications are reviewed by representatives from the Muskie School's Cutler Institute for Health and Social Policy and other major research projects.
Applicants will be notified as soon as decisions are formalized, generally in late April. Applicants associated with grant assistantships will be hired on the timeline associated with the grant.
