Perceptions of authenticity in Old Port tourists: what is meaningful and where they go

This research uses recent survey data and GIS analysis to create a place-based analysis of tourist's perception of authenticity in Portland's Old Port. This work can inform policy and planning decisions on Portland, Maine's waterfront and be scaled to look at other coastal destinations branded as "authentic."

Presented by Tracy Michaud, PhD (Tourism & Hospitality) and Matthew Bampton, PhD (Geography-Anthropology).

RSVP Encouraged.
