Please join us via Zoom on Thursday, 9/29, from 12-1 PM for our Muskie Student Organization (MSO) Alumni Panel Discussion. We are thrilled to host Muskie alumni, Teague Morris and Jennifer Hutchins! Teague and Jennifer will speak about their Muskie School experience as well as their vibrant careers in public service. Afterward, we'll open the discussion to students and other attendees. Read on to learn more about Jennifer and Teague!
Jennifer Hutchins is Executive Director of the Maine Association of Nonprofits. Prior to joining MANP, she was Executive Director of Creative Portland and Director of Communications and External Affairs at the USM Muskie School of Public Service. She serves on the boards of the Maine Academy of Modern Music, the Maine Philanthropy Center and the USM Muskie School. Jennifer holds a master’s in public policy and management and lives in Portland with her husband and two daughters.
Teague Morris ('86, Earlham College, Human Development and Social Relations) began his professional career as a long term care social worker. Along the way, he earned an MPPM ('03) and a PhD ('10) from the University of Southern Maine's Muskie School of Public Service. He served on Senator King's 2012 election campaign as Deputy Finance Director and, since 2013, on his state staff where he focuses on veterans, seniors and low-income policy issues. He and his husband, the composer Delmar Small, live in Topsham where they've designed, built and just moved into a two-family, age-friendly home for their extended families. In their spare time (hah!), they enjoy amateur mycology, molinology and cabinet building.
Students and members of the public are encouraged to join for a brief presentation by the panelists, followed by a Q&A session. Please feel free to contact Eva Shepherd, MSO Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
