The Policy, Planning, and Management (MPPM) Advisory Committee at the Muskie School is recruiting new members. Current committee membership consists of leaders in state and local government, as well as not-for-profit organizations and the private sector. The committee’s mission is to provide advice and support to the Master’s Program in Policy, Planning, and Management, and to serve as a strong advocate for the program. The Advisory Committee’s primary areas of responsibility include internal (to USM) and external relations; promotion and advocacy; specific program initiatives support – e.g., internships and scholarships; support mentoring and networking activities for students; and advising on the alignment between the MPPM curriculum and the professional workforce skills and competences. The board meets at least twice a year in person, but all meetings have been virtual since summer 2020.
The MPPM Advisory Committee is looking for Muskie alumni (or alumni from other Planning or Public Administration programs), members with Maine connections (you do not have to currently live in Maine), and representatives from different employment sectors. If you are enthusiastic about helping the Muskie School and its students continue to succeed, please contact us for more information. General inquiries can be sent to advisory committee members Amy Lamontagne at firstname.lastname@example.org or Lisa Pohlmann at email@example.com.
