Sustainable Sites Initiative summer workshop

Sustainable Sites Initiative (SITES) on Resilience:  The New Model for Community Planning, Land Development and Asset Management

Overview: SITES is a third-party global planning and design framework and rating system developed to shake up traditional and expensive site development strategies, while keeping in mind sustainability and resiliency principles. Federal agencies, state governments and municipalities use SITES as a framework for code and policy development.  Real estate portfolio managers are looking at SITES for ways to ensure long term project viability and investment.

Objectives: In this workshop you will gain an understanding of SITES through case studies; explore the rationale by early adopters; learn about emerging research for metrics that address stormwater, carbon, pollutant removal, energy and water savings; and, the market trends resulting from an innovative, cost-saving, land-focused development and management framework.
