Fall 2020 University of Southern Maine and University of Maine System OML Hours (Effective Monday, August 31st):
With the exception of pre-scheduled University course visits, USM and UMS visitors (students, faculty, and staff) are welcome to visit the OML during the hours listed below. No prior appointment is needed to come and see the Bicentennial exhibition (no more than four visitors allowed in the gallery at any one time), or to come and do research, view collection materials, etc. As ever, face coverings are required when on campus. USM/UMS visitors should enter into the Glickman Library front desk area, scan their USM/UMS ID card, and then proceed through the exit door into the arcade and down to the OML, where we will greet you and facilitate your visit. University class visits, totaling no more than 10 students/visit, must be pre-scheduled, and can be held during off-hours, including Mondays.

The Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education is located on the Portland campus of the University of Southern Maine. It occupies the three-story building at the corner of Forest Avenue and Bedford Street (314 Forest Avenue; Portland, ME 04101); it is attached, on the first floor, to the seven-story Albert Brenner Glickman Family Library. The public entrances — to the reading room, the gallery, and the Cohen Education Center — are all off the arcade that runs across the front of both library buildings.
The arcade itself can be accessed directly from Bedford St. or from the University Commons.
