Occupational Therapy Program

Master of Occupational Therapy Program

USM's Lewiston-Auburn College offers an entry-level Master of Occupational Therapy Program for students who have an undergraduate degree in any field.

The Master of Occupational Therapy program takes an integrative and holistic approach in educating students to become Occupational Therapists. Graduates of this program will be prepared to succeed in the health and community care contexts as ethical, socially responsible, life-long learners.

Applicant filing deadline for all components of the application packet (or a re-application) must be received by October 1st for admittance the following fall. Applications received after October 1st will be reviewed at the discretion of the program faculty. Interview sessions are held annually each November for qualified applicants.

***The MOT program will be holding a second round of interviews in late spring to fill a limited number of part time seats for the fall 2019 cohort. Application materials should be submitted no later than March 15th by visiting the University of Southern Maine's Graduate Admissions page.

The University of Southern Maine also offers a MOT 4+1 Accelerated Pathway for those currently enrolled in one of three specific USM bachelor degree programs.

The MOT program is happy to announce that we will be continuing with our current Master's degree while also planning for an entry-level OTD program. To learn more about potential changes to the education of future OT practitioners, please visit the AOTA website.
