October 10, 2021 Parking Permit Update & Reminders

USM Parking Permit Update photo

Hello Huskies!

We ran into a few issues this past week and we did not get all the student permits processed like we had hoped for. We are trying the best we can as we work as fast as humanly possible to process the parking permits. Please see the following Updates and Reminders on parking at USM this fall 2021. As well as, we are extending the grace period of a citation of not displaying your permit if you do not have one until Monday, November 1st, 2021.

 Updates

Resident Students have been 98% processed and issued their parking permits per the application we received from them or filled-out Google Form.

- Your permit has been mailed to your campus mailbox.

- Please make sure you have checked your mailbox. Also, if you are a returning student, did you know your mailbox may have changed? Make sure you read any emails from Res Life and Mail Services. They have notified you about this.

-  We are contacting Resident Students if there is an issue with their application by an email from us to their maine.edu email address or something mailed back to their mailbox.

- Your parking permit for this 2021-2022 year must be displayed correctly at all times and park where you are assigned per the color of the permit. Or in the Parking Garage in Portland. If not, you are subject to a citation.

- All other citations will be issued.

Commuter Students are still being processed and issued their parking permits per the application we received from them or filled-out Google Form.

- Your permit will be mailed to the address you put down on the application or on the Google Form.

- Note: The USPS is being unpredictably slow in delivery mail. Apologizes for the inconveniences.

- We are contacting Commuter Students if there is an issue with their application by an email from us to their maine.edu email address.

- Commuter Students are allowed to park in any red signed surface lot in Gorham or any surface lot in Portland for fall 2021. And in the Parking Garage in Portland.

- All other citations will be issued.
