What leads people into teaching and what sustains this motivation? For many it is the possibility of making a difference in people’s lives. This innate motivation is fragile and needs to be cultivated and nurtured. Without this care, it can easily end up lost, forgotten, or buried under countless duties and responsibilities.

Join us for a presentation by Professor Jeremiah Conway, author of the recent book--The Alchemy of Teaching. The Transformation of Lives—invites us to consider and reflect on the often messy, wondrous, sometimes chaotic struggle for human change that occurs in classrooms.

His book, which has received glowing national reviews, offers educators a literary glimpse into the heart of a teacher and classroom. Through his stories we are given a gentle, yet potent, reminder that teaching matters, it’s a privilege and lives are at stake in it.
