Profile

Prior to teaching in higher education, I taught early childhood and early elementary grades and served as an administrator in a bilingual community-based school.

My research centers on the minoritized experience in American schooling. I am interested in how minority students and their families, as well as minoritized teachers, navigate educational institutions.

My husband and I have three wonderful daughters and we enjoy spending time together as a family. I enjoy reading, watching movies, and politics.
