Insects provide a fascinating entry into the study of biology for many people.  This talk will be understandable for everyone no matter what your background.  The talk will focus on how the life cycles of insects are helping us understand that all animals inherit growth and aging programs, which are encoded in our DNA.  Lots of fun examples and images will be shared!  Hormones often play critical roles in life cycle transitions and a variety of examples will be used to show relationships and connections between animals.

Admission by donation.

Call 207-780-4249 or e-mail  egleason@usm.maine.edu to reserve your space.
