Communications Officer Giampetro moved to Maine at the start of high school. After graduating high school, she left Maine for her first semester of college but returned to finish her degree at UMA. During this time, she worked in customer service. After graduating with a BA in Art, she continued working in customer service while did freelance work as a photographer. 

In the summer of 2015, Comm Ofc Giampetro joined our team here at USM Public Safety. Shortly after, she went to the Maine Criminal Justice Academy to become certified in Basic Dispatching and Metro (the national law enforcement teletype system). Recertification is done every two years to ensure that training is up to date. In 2018, she became the department photographer, graphic designer, and social media coordinator. That year Comm Ofc Giampetro also took a course to become a certified communications training officer. In 2019, she did training to become certified to teach civilian, active attacker training along with Ofc Bunick. The two now offer training to groups on campus for active attacker events.

Comm Ofc Giampetro completed her Masters in Leadership Studies in 2020 and is currently a doctorate student in Leadership and Organization Studies.
