Artel strives to create a work environment that motivates and inspires all our employees to be the best they can be, to achieve goals which are meaningful and of which they can be proud. We encourage our employees to further their careers by strengthening and evolving their skillsets. This includes exploring programs like the Professional Development Programs at USM. We promote and encourage this program to our employees and appreciate the opportunity to partner with USM to help our employees with their professional growth.

As part of its continuous improvement journey, Central Maine Healthcare sent a number of managers to USM to receive Green Belt training.  This education supplemented a required training course on the Central Maine Operating System based on lean tools and techniques.  Attendees of the green belt training were able to apply the additional concepts to the improvement work they do at the hospital.  To date they have improved processes resulting in improved patient care and improved flow and efficiency in their various departments across the hospital.

USM’s Professional Development programs have been an excellent resource for our small company. Courses on Supervision and Conflict Resolution have been particularly helpful in providing focused training with real-world takeaways that can be implemented immediately by everyone from front-line supervisors to seasoned managers.

PDA is thrilled to have an affiliate with USM’s Professional Development Program.  The program brings value in our business by providing continuing education for our emerging leaders, current leadership and employees just wanting to enhance their skillset.   The variety of courses and certificates offered provides our employees with more knowledge and ability to apply or enhance their skillsets which aids us in our ability to keep our employees fresh, motivated, engaged, and more effective.  Providing employees with an opportunity to be in a classroom setting using real business examples has proven successful with growth and development of the staff.  Happy employees fosters a positive culture, which in turn, has a positive impact to our customers.
