Artist Natasha Mayers hanging buoys

USM's buoy project is back, now hanging from the rafters inside the Woodbury Campus Center. Natasha Mayers, who led the project in 2016 as an artist-in-residence, returned to rehang the buoys.

In all there are more than 75 different buoys, each painted in the flag of the participant's home: from the U.S. and Canada to Somalia and Israel.

The buoys were previously hung outside the Maine Historical Society in downtown Portland, in the Portland Jetport and inside USM's Alumni Skywalk.
