Dan MacLeod ‘10 has been named the managing editor of the Bangor Daily News, Maine’s second-largest newspaper.
He’s now helping to lead a newsroom he first glimpsed while attending the University of Southern Maine.
In 2009, he worked for the Bangor paper as a student intern. He followed that up in 2010 as the editor of The Free Press, USM’s student newspaper.
Following his graduation in December 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, MacLeod worked as a freelance reporter and landed a staff position at The Brooklyn Paper. He later covered politics, crime and breaking news for the New York Post before returning to Maine.
At the Bangor Daily News, MacLeod has worked as a producer, senior news editor and deputy managing editor. He is 35.
The Bangor Daily News has published a story about MacLeod's promotion.
