Maine Model UN featured on WCSH-TV "207"

The 2018 Maine Model United Nations — hosted on USM’s Gorham Campus — was featured on the WCSH-TV program “207.”

Reporter Peggy Keyser talked with several of the high school and middle school delegates, the USM student organizers and Timothy Ruback, a USM political science faculty member and the Model UN’s director.

On the program, Ruback applauded the work of USM students.

“We train them with research skills to become experts in the fields they’re talking about,” he said.

Althea Sellers was featured on the broadcast, sharing her own work as a student delegate while in high school. She’s now a student organizer at USM.

Show co-host Rob Caldwell praised the student delegates and hosts.

“The seriousness with which they approach this is nothing but inspiring,” he said.
