MaineBiz highlighted the work of Mike Adams, a University of Maine School of Law student who put together a financial guide for veterans.

Adams, a second-year law student, spent 12 weeks as an intern with the Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection and came up with the idea for the guide.

"As a veteran myself, I thought there was a gap of information on the available resources, so I wanted to create something that put it all in one easy-to-read booklet the state could distribute and publish," Adams told MaineBiz reporter Renee Cordes.

In putting together the booklet, Adams worked with the Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, the Governor’s office and Superintendent William Lund of the consumer bureau.

The booklet, “Financial Guide for Maine Veterans,” is currently free to all Maine residents. People may request copies at the bureau’s website or download a copy.
