Sun Journal features student-run Community Clinic at Lewiston campus
A new feature story in the Sun Journal examines the just-opened community clinic at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College. Reporter Kathryn Skelton talked with the mom of a child at the clinic, some of the Master’s in Occupational Therapy students who run the facility and Mary Anderson, the clinic's coordinator and a lecturer in the MOT program.

USM Engineering alumni: From connecting circuits to building the Navy's newest ships
Before Hector Ortiz and Ron Peterson joined Bath Iron Works — helping to design and build the Navy’s state-of-the-art ships — the University of Southern Maine wrought and tempered them into engineers. The rigor of USM’s fully-accredited Department of Engineering prepared the 2014 graduates to perform important roles for the 130-year-old shipbuilder, they said.

USM President Cummings talks resurgence and workforce development on WCSH-TV's "207"
University of Southern Maine President Glenn Cummings talked about USM’s resurgence on the WCSH-TV news program “207.” Topics included the school’s financial turnaround from a $4 million deficit to an $8 million reserve, rising admission and retention rates and new initiatives aimed at further workforce development.

World-renowned scientist and USM alumnus recognizes professor & mentor
With his USM mentor at his side, scientist Ray Stevens '86 announced plans to renovate the lecture hall inside the Portland Campus science building. It will be renamed, “The John S. Ricci Lecture Hall.”
