Feb. 14, 2019 — USM Department of Theatre and School of Music collaborate to present "Unlock’d" by Maine native, Sam Carner

The USM Department of Theatre and School of Music present a collaborative production of "Unlock'd," a delightful “modern-ish musical romance” about the roles we are born into and people we secretly wish to become. "Unlock’d" opens on Friday, March 1 and runs through Sunday, March 10.

The University of Southern Maine (USM) is pleased to announce that nearly 1,200 undergraduate students from across the globe have been named to the Fall semester 2018 Dean's List.

Feb. 7, 2019 — USM AREA Gallery presents first solo exhibit by Maine photographer Smith Galtney

The University of Southern Maine Art Galleries will host an opening reception for photographer Smith Galtney and his exhibition “My Principal Ghost” Thursday, February 21, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., including an artist talk at 6:00 p.m., at the USM AREA Gallery, Woodbury Campus Center, on the Portland Campus. The exhibition will be on view through March 29.

Feb. 5, 2019 — USM and the Portland String Quartet Society celebrate Valentine's Day with “Baroque Pearls and Romantic Gems"

On Sunday, February 17, 2:00 p.m., the University of Southern Maine School of Music and the Portland String Quartet Society co-present their popular Valentine’s Day concert. This year’s concert, titled "Baroque Pearls and Romantic Gems," takes place at Woodfords Congregational Church (202 Woodford Street) in Portland. Featuring violinist Ronald Lantz and pianist Laura Kargul, this performance marks the seventh time the duo has celebrated the holiday of romance with a concert in the Portland area.

For the eighth time in five years, the federal Environmental Protection Agency has honored the University of Southern Maine's efforts to reduce and reuse waste at its campuses in Portland, Gorham and Lewiston.
