PROPEL, USM and David Shaw Kick-Off Entreverge Nominations on February 27

PROPEL, the Portland Region’s premier young professionals networking and business organizational group, and the University of Southern Maine are celebrating the kick-off of PROPEL’s entreverge award nominations from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, at Hannaford Lecture Hall, Abromson Community Education Center, on USM’s Portland campus. Free parking will be available in the parking garage located behind the Abromson Center. USM graduate David Shaw ’76 (M.B.A.) will be the speaker. His presentation will focus on leadership, social entrepreneurship and his personal experiences as an entrepreneur. Entreverge is PROPEL’s annual award ceremony that acknowledges local entrepreneurs, scheduled this year for June 12.  Nominations will be open on on February 27.

Before and after the presentation there will be a networking event with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m., speaking will begin at 6 p.m. This event is free for PROPEL and Chamber members and $10 for non-members.

Shaw is the founder and managing partner of the Black Point Group. He is also the founder and retired CEO of IDEXX, a venture investor/director of Ironwood Pharmaceuticals and Sapphire Energy, a founding chairman of DVM and Fetch, and has been a director/founding investor of more than a dozen public and private companies.  For more information, visit Black Point Group
