In the Season 3 finale of "The USM Update," Jeannine Uzzi, USM provost and vice president for academic affairs, welcomes guests from across the university to discuss new studies and a new degree in Leadership, excellence in athletics and, with some of our graduating students, life during and after their time at USM. Watch the full show.
First, Uzzi sits down with Dan Jenkins, chair and associate professor of Leadership Studies, to hear about what students can do — or rather, what can't they do? — with a degree in Leadership, and to discuss a new, first-in-New-England doctoral degree in Leadership Studies that will become available starting in Fall 2020. Joining Jenkins is Paul Froman, who will be receiving his master's in Leadership this month, and Cathy Gray, who will be receiving her bachelor's degree in the program. Watch the segment.
Next, we welcome USM Head Baseball Coach Ed Flaherty, who has been coaching at USM for 34 seasons, and students Devin Warren and Dalton Rice to discuss the USM Huskies' Baseball team's success this season. As of May 2, they're ranked #3 in the Division III national polls, and ranked #1 for the Little East Conference regular season. Get the play-by-play.
Lastly, we welcome three graduating students who exemplify USM's status as a diverse, exciting place of learning. We bring on Ezra Briggs, of Lubec, Maine, who's earning his degree in Political Science; Lexi Bartlett, of Houlton, Maine, who will also be receiving her degree in Political Science; and Thanex Louis, of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, who is earning his master's degree in Policy, Planning, and Management. The three reflect on their time at USM, share stories and talk about their future plans. Follow the links to view their individuals stories on our website, and watch the segment now.
We congratulate these students, and all students, who will be marching May 11 at USM's 139th Commencement!
