USM's Ron Schmidt was interviewed by "Maine Things Considered" on predicted turnout for the November 7th referenda.
If done properly, social media campaigns can reach key voters, Schmidt said.
"The right kind of social media campaign could have a big effect on a part of the public that are minorities, but that if they mobilize, they can have an outsize impact when the majority of other voters stay home," he said.
Schmidt is an associate professor of political science at USM who specializes in political theory.
