Take action this Earth Day at annual USM events - Great Bike Swap, E-Waste Recycling and more

USM Sustainability volunteers

Learn more. Use Less.

These are the guiding principles as the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Southern Maine celebrate Earth Day 2019 with volunteer work, recycling drives and continued commitment toward efficiency and waste reduction.

Among the April events are the 10th Annual Husky Day of Service, April 12, where students, faculty and staff help nonprofits throughout the surrounding communities, including working on projects focusing on the environment. This month USM will again co-host the Great Maine Bike Swap in collaboration with the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, and the 7th annual Free Electronic Waste Recycling Day as well, drawing people from around Portland to recycle a variety of small appliances and personal electronics totaling tens of thousands of pounds.

This work makes USM and the community a greener place, won't you join us?
