Three USM academic programs described as “majorly cool” by Sun Journal

USM’s Fermentation Science course and Social Media Activism minor were recognized for their uniqueness by the Sun Journal.

The Fermentation Science course was created “in response to Maine’s booming brew market”. The course is primarily taken by science majors, but open to all. There is a lab associated with the course that allows students to do hands-on work with alcohol.

The Social Media Activism minor teaches students how to enhance and add meaning to their social media presence. The minor opens up many doors, as its main goal is to teach students how to use social media effectively.

University of Southern Maine’s Cinema studies minor was also mentioned in the article.
