USM adds 10 faculty for 2021-22

Ten full-time faculty members have joined USM this new academic year, half of them in Nursing. 

"The impressive resumes of USM's distinguished faculty often seem to be a well kept secret, and we would like to change that!" said Jeannine Diddle Uzzi, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs. "This year's incoming class of new faculty will all arrive with a Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in hand. They come with the teaching, research, and work experience that will allow them to mentor our students to success. Each new faculty member is an exceptional teacher-scholar who will work closely with USM students to create new knowledge that will benefit Maine and the world."

The new faculty members are:

  • William Kinne, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
  • Jennifer Bragdon, Assistant Professor of Nursing, College of Science, Technology, and Health
  • Suzanne Parkman, Assistant Professor of Nursing, College of Science, Technology, and

  • Emily York, Lecturer in Nursing, College of Science, Technology, and Health
  • Kimberly Mantlow, Lecturer in Nursing, College of Science, Technology, and Health
  • Benjamin Wormwood, Lecturer in Physiological Psychology, College of Science, Technology, and Health
  • Kathleen McGovern, Assistant Professor of Literacy, Language, and Culture
  • Elizabeth Palmer, Clinical Assistant Faculty, College of Science, Technology, and Health
