USM alumna wrote opinion piece on historical fly-in in Old Orchard Beach in Bangor Daily News Blogs

USM alumna Kristine Millard wrote an opinion piece on the "Wings 4 Wishes" fly-in at Old Orchard Beach.

Inspired by Charles Lindbergh's plane landing on the beach in 1927, the planes landed on Old Orchard Beach, she wrote. Chase Walker, an Old Orchard Beach High School student, organized the fundraiser.

The "Wings 4 Wishes" raised $12,000 for the Make a Wish Maine foundation.

Millard has a Master of Fine Arts from the Stonecoast MFA Program in creative writing at USM.
