The University of Southern Maine celebrates Homecoming & Family Weekend in Portland and Gorham on Friday, October 12 through Sunday, October 14. Alumni, students, friends and families are all welcome to enjoy a weekend packed full of events for everyone, including speakers, music, sports and more.
“The events offer a time for all friends and family of students to come together on campus and celebrate the spirit of USM, ” said David Lewis, Coordinator of Student Activities on the Gorham Campus.
Kicking off with Chris Matthews at Hannaford Hall in Portland on Friday, the weekend continues in Gorham with athletic games, an old-fashioned band concert, casino night, a President’s Brunch and the “Octoberfest-a Fall” celebration with food trucks, novelty activities, and much more.
"The USM Alumni Association is proud to welcome our alums home for the University's first Homecoming celebration in many years. This special weekend is just one step the University is taking to connect our students to the community while building a powerful Husky culture among our 52,000-strong alumni network," said Corey Hascall, Vice President of Alumni and Public Engagement.
