February 4, 2019 to March 25, 2019
Recovery Oriented Campus Center, Sullivan Gym, Portland Campus

Intersectionality and Recovery is a discussion-based group about the importance of using an intersectional lens in recovery spaces. In this group, we will discuss Kimberlé Crenshaw’s idea of intersectionality asa lens through which you can see where power comes and collides, where it interlocks and intersects” (Crenshaw), and how this framework of intersectionality can be applied to recovery-oriented spaces in order to better provide support for people living with mental health and substance use conditions.
