Maine and the Civil War

Associate Professor of History Libby Bischof will present a talk on Civil War photography as part of  Local & Legendary: Maine in the Civil War – A Sequicentennial Symposium.  The event is being organized by the Maine Historical Society in partnership with the Maine Humanities Council at USM’s Hannaford Hall on April 27. She recently received an NEH grant to work on this research as one of the project scholars, together with schools, libraries, and historical societies in Maine to re-create stories from the Civil War. The digital exhibits created by the project collaborative project teams will be uploaded to the Maine Memory Network’s Civil War site.
