Data Innovation Project Releases New Report on Performance Measurement in Maine's Social Sector

The Data Innovation Project recently released a report on the performance measurement expectations Maine funders have for nonprofits.

National research has found that both foundations and nonprofits struggle to integrate data and evaluation into that story of success meaningfully; nationally, 94% of nonprofit professionals do not feel they are using the data effectively, and 75% of foundation professionals do not feel they are using their data effectively. The report explores this important topic with the goal of providing the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors with Maine-specific information intended to guide data-informed conversation and decision-making. The remainder of this report is organized into the following sections: methodology (sample and analysis), findings, and recommendations and best practice considerations.
