The Annual Therapeutic Recreation Conference-Diversity in Therapeutic Recreation

The University of Southern Maine's Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies & The Maine Recreational Therapy Association presented the April 20th, 2018 conference on Diversity in Therapeutic Recreation.

2018 Boston Marathon

2018 Boston Marathon: Inspiring People at Mile 12 An alumni student of the Recreation and Leisure Studies department has run in the 2018Boston Marathon and was featured. Recreation and Leisure Studies students awarded the James Sullivan Scholarship

On October 21, 2016 the College of Science, Technology, and Health presented two Recreation and Leisure Study students with the James D. Sullivan Scholarship Award. Marly Sargent and Patrick Dragon were honored with the award by James Sullivan's daughter, Vicki Sullivan. RLS instructors Jennifer Jain and Holly Bean, along with Laure Nickerson joined the group in congratulating Marly and Patrick.

Recreational Therapy Student Named USA Hockey Disabled Athlete of the Year

Christy Gardner, a USM recreational therapy major, has been named USA Hockey's Disabled Athlete of the Year.
