The University of Southern Maine (USM) Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Office supports the University's goal of effective teaching and conducting research by offering technical guidance, training and investigative services to the institution at large.
The USM EH&S Office supports the University’s mission by providing training, guidance, and consultation services to all members of the university community on matters related to safety and environmental health. EH&S policies are drafted to foster a safe and healthful campus environment and to comply with various regulatory requirements.
The USM EH&S professionals work with the differnet University departments to foster an attitude of safety and environmental awareness within the USM community. USM EH&S professionals also serve as a liaison to most local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
