Bertha Bridges Willis and Ralph "Rusty" Willis scholarship

The Bertha Bridges Willis and Ralph "Rusty" Willis Scholarship was originally established in 1993 by family and friends in memory of "Rusty" Willis. It was then endowed in 1994. Mr. Willis graduated from Gorham Normal School in 1936, taught industrial arts for 14-years and was honored by the USM Husky Hall of Fame for his contributions to athletics at USM. Upon the death of Mrs. Bertha Bridges Willis in 2002, family and friends asked to rename the scholarship to include her name. Mrs. Willis graduated from Gorham Normal School with the Class of 1935.

Preference will be given to a candidate who meets one or more of the following criteria: Graduate of Gorham High School, enrolled in the College of Science, Technology and Health or the School of Education and Human Development. Active in athletics and demonstrated financial need as determined by USM's Office of Financial Aid.
