USM Scholarships

NiSource Charitable Foundation Scholarship


The NiSource Charitable Foundation Scholarship was established in 2004 by the NiSource Charitable Foundation.


Students must be enrolled in a major in Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science and Policy, or Technology. Completed 30 credit hours toward their major of which at least 15 credit hours have been completed at USM. Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during the semester of the award, and have at least a GPA of 3.0

How to Apply

Complete and submit the online application. Please note that you must be logged into your email to access the application.

Include two written recommendations, with at least one from a faculty member in the candidate's major department, and an essay 500 words or less describing how he/she intends to contribute to the Maine community upon graduation.

Award amounts may vary each year and are subject to fund availability. As an NCAA Division III school, USM is prohibited from awarding scholarships based on athletic participation.
