Recovery Oriented Campus Center (ROCC) Scholarship

Description

The ROCC (Recover Oriented Campus Center) Scholarship was created at the University of Southern Maine (USM) in 2016 with a gift received through the University of Southern Maine Foundation (USMF). In 2019, the number, amount and frequency of awards were amended at the donor's request. The goal is to have awards made every semester, not just in the spring.

Eligibility

The fund shall be used to support students as follows:

  • Five (5) awards of $2,500 shall be given each semester fall and spring semester, as funds are available.
  • Preference will be given to students who self-identify as in recovery for alcohol and/or drug addiction.
  • Recipients must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours), maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have demonstrated financial need.

The selection of recipients shall be made by the office of Enrollment Management and Marketing in consultation with staff from the Counseling Center, Campus Life, and Dean of Students offices, or successor administrative units.

Award Amount

Five (5) awards of $2,500 shall be given each semester fall and spring semester, as funds are available
