Carole J. Collins Memorial Scholarship

Description

The Carole J. Collins Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 by the committee members of the “Upward Bound at USM Dollars for Scholars” Organization. Carole J. Collins was a founding member of the “UB at USM DFS” Organization in 2003 and served on the board until her passing in 2017. Ms. Collins was a parent of a student involved in the Upward Bound Program at USM and tirelessly advocated for Upward Bound through scholarships to support students in their goal of completing a college degree.

Eligibility

Applicants to the Carole J. Collins Memorial Scholarship must:
  • Be a former participant of the TRIO Upward Bound Program at the University of Southern Maine
  • Be a matriculated, degree-seeking student at USM
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Demonstrate financial need
Please note that the former TRIO Upward Bound Program participation is specific to Upward Bound, and does not include TRIO College Programs/TRIO Student Support Services/Scholars.

Award Amount

Annual awards ranging from $500 to $1,000 will be made to eligible students.
