Electa “Lecky” McLain Brown Scholarship

Description

This scholarship was established by Electa "Lecky" McLain Brown, a longtime resident of Gorham who worked at USM from 1943 (when it was the Gorham Normal School) until 1976. When she left the university, she had held the position of bursar for 33 years. This endowed scholarship is designed to help USM School of Business students with financial need meet the cost of tuition. Recipients of Electa McLain Brown Endowed Scholarships must be graduates of a Maine high school.

Eligibility

Cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or better required; Enrolled in a minimum of 6 USM credits when funds are received; Will graduate no sooner than December of the academic year funds are received; Preference given to those with demonstrated need as evidenced by the FAFSA; Graduated from a Maine high school.
